Postgraduate Bioethics Conference 2017 – Registration and Call for Abstracts
May 26, 2017
The Postgraduate Bioethics Conference (PGBC) is an annual conference for postgraduate student researchers in bioethics. At PGBC postgraduate students and academics working in bioethics come together and share ideas via oral presentations and keynote talks. Workshops in core academic skills and careers are also provided. Over the past ten years, often with the support of the Wellcome Trust, PGBC has become vital for growth of a supportive bioethics student community. Although we hope delegates will find PGBC practically useful for skills development, we also hope they will join us in PGBC’s more ambitious aim: to foster the next generation of bioethics scholars.
The PGBC, now in its 11th year, aims to foster a network of early career scholars in bioethics. Participants will have the opportunity to meet established bioethicists, present their work, and attend career development and publication workshops.
The conference is free to attend – with lunch, refreshments, a networking dinner and one night’s accommodation all provided. Postgraduate students can also apply (i) to give a long oral presentation (15 mins), or (ii) to give a short oral presentation (5 mins), and/or (ii) for a travel bursary. Registration, call for abstracts and bursary applications will close on the 1st July 2017.
