Abortion Rights Supporters Sue Texas Over Dozens of Law They Say Restrict the Procedure

June 15, 2018

(Dallas Morning News) – Six organizations and one doctor sued Texas on Thursday in an effort to repeal dozens of abortion laws that have been on the books for decades. The laws challenged include the state’s required 24-hour waiting period between having a sonogram and an abortion, as well as the rule that parents must consent to a minor having an abortion. The suit also seeks to allow doctors to prescribe medical abortions remotely over video conference, which is banned in Texas.
