June 30, 2017

(Eurekalert) – Many nursing home residents have a fairly pain-free experience until the end of life, but at least a third suffer persistent, significant pain during their last six months, according to a new study from the University of Manitoba, University of British Columbia and University of Alberta that could have implications for end-of-life care in Canada. Researchers analyzed pain evaluations for 962 nursing home seniors in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan between 2007 and 2012.
