Many Doctors Clueless to Cost of ER Treatments, Study Says

(UPI) – If you wind up in the ER, chances are your doctors have no clue what the tests and treatments they order will cost, a new study finds. Researchers asked more than 400 emergency medicine health care professionals — including physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners — about the cost of care for three types of cases commonly seen in an emergency department: a 35-year old woman with abdominal pain, a 57-year old man with labored breathing and a 7-year old boy with a sore throat.
