IVF births set record in 2012

(Med Page Today) – More than 60,000 babies were born in the U.S. in 2012 through the use of reproductive technology, mainly in vitro fertilization (IVF), according to a report from a reproductive specialty group. The annual report from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART) tallied 61,740 live births in the U.S. in 2012 — an increase of more than 2,000 infants from 2011.
